UKF in Slovakia joins the EE program

We are happy to welcome the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre, abbrev. UKF in Slovak). The university has been formed as a modern European general university where dominant role is played by science, spiritual quality, high professionalism, pedagogical mastery, open and vivid communication both within local environment and within the world.

It offers a variety of study programmes at bachelor, master and doctoral level, providing strong flexibility, innovation and diversity. In addition to its strong tradition in training of teachers for primary and secondary schools, UKF also offers study programmes for future social workers, experts for cultural organizations and institutions, political scientists, catechists, journalists, archaeologists, historians, musicologists, biologists, environmentalists, mathematicians, physicists, computer scientists, psychologists, gemmologists and other professionals.

UKF’s Department of Translation Studies offers Bachelor, Master and PhD. degrees. The structure of the study programmes reflects the competences for professional translators and the requirements and the needs of the market in the area of translating and interpreting. The students are trained to acquire the knowledge and skills important for their future career. That is why there are the so-called common core subjects for all study programmes (Social, Ethical and Administrative Aspects of the Translator’s Profession, Computer Assisted Translation, Lexicography and Terminography), and a compulsory subject Translation and Interpreting Practice (a minimum two-week internship in Slovakia or abroad).
